The question is who benefits from NOT having a rail station on the new metro line within a short walk of the existing South Yarra station? Surely an integrated land-use and transport system warrants a station at South Yarra…even at a cost of 0.5 billion dollars. The land value increase and subsequent rate and rent revenue would make the net cost much lower if cleverly done.
