What should we do to civilise driving?

Good comment. The horrendous crash on the eastern freeway that ultimately resulted in the death of four police should be a reminder that driving a motor vehicle is a privilege that has to be earned not a right. The driver in question should lose his license for life and I think this episode should encourage the government to take a strong stand on driver behaviour. Lower speeds are critical. A return to the Swedish model of Vision Zero is timely.
